Beyond The Burn

10 Ways to Give Your Scentsuals Vessel a Second Life

A candle can set the mood, fill a room with fragrance and become part of your everyday rituals. But what happens when the flame goes out for the last time?

For us, that's not quite the end.

At Scentsuals, we believe in choosing things that have a life beyond the moment they're made for. So when your candle has burned its final glow, don't be too quick to part with the vessel. With a little thought, it can become something entirely new.

From your kitchen countertop to your bathroom shelf, here are ten ways to give your Scentsuals vessel a beautiful second life.

1. A Fresh Herb Holder

Cooking with fresh herbs? Give them a temporary home while you're in the kitchen.

Place your herbs in the vessel while you're preparing dinner, or use it to keep a small bunch close at hand while cooking.

Basil, rosemary, thyme, mint — whatever happens to be making its way into tonight's dinner.

And yes, it looks much nicer on the counter than a plastic packet.

2. Mini Herb Planter

Take the herb idea one step further.

Your Scentsuals vessel can become a little countertop herb garden; think basil by the window, mint for summer drinks or rosemary ready for your next roast.

There's something rather satisfying about being able to reach over and snip a few fresh leaves while you're cooking.

Small garden. Big upgrade to dinner.

3. A Little Plant Pot

Give your vessel a new lease on life with a little greenery.

It makes a lovely home for small plants and cuttings, bringing a little softness to a windowsill, shelf or bedside table.

For plants that need drainage, simply use the vessel as a decorative outer pot with a suitable inner planter.

4. A Tea Bag/leaves Holder

For the tea drinkers.

Keep your favourite tea in one place, ready for the next cup. It also makes a charming little addition to a breakfast table when you're having friends over.

Tea, biscuits and a beautiful vessel on the table?

We'll take that.

5. A Candle Companion

Candles and matches naturally belong together, so why not let the vessel continue the relationship?

Fill it with long matches and keep it beside your next candle. It's an easy way to make your candle corner feel intentional rather than simply functional.

And let's be honest: opening a matchbox is one thing. Having your matches displayed in a Scentsuals vessel is another.

6. A Make-Up Brush Holder

A very simple transformation, and one that looks particularly good sitting beside your mirror.

Pop in your favourite make-up brushes, eyeliner pencils or beauty tools and suddenly the vessel has a whole new purpose. It's practical, tidy and far prettier than rummaging through a drawer every morning.

7. A Toothbrush Holder

Who said bathroom storage had to be boring?

Once thoroughly cleaned, your vessel makes an elegant little home for your toothbrushes. Pair it with neutral ceramics, soft towels and a few favourite skincare products for that effortlessly calm, hotel-bathroom feeling.

8. A Cotton Pad Holder

Move over, bathroom drawer.

Your vessel is the perfect size for keeping cotton pads somewhere easy to reach. Place it beside your skincare products and turn a practical bathroom essential into part of the decor.

9. A Cotton Bud Holder

The same idea, just slightly smaller.

Keep cotton buds neatly together and within reach while adding a little texture and character to your bathroom shelf.

10. Your new favourite glassware 🥂

One of our favourite ways to reuse the vessel is to give it a completely different identity, Kent Clark style.

A mocktail. A cocktail. An iced coffee. A little something with a slice of lime.

Imagine a summer evening, ice clinking in the glass, a few fresh herbs from the kitchen and the descending of the sunset as the day winds down.

That's what we mean by Beyond the Burn.

A candle can have a final flicker, but that doesn't have to be the end of its story. What was once part of your evening ritual can become part of your morning routine, your bathroom shelf, your kitchen assistant, or even your next refreshing summer drink.

We like the idea of things having more than one chapter.

So when the last of the wax is gone, give the vessel a deep clean, find it a new role and give it a second life. Cheers🥂
